Feature One: Running bathrooms in -27 degrees.
We have a continuous supply of hot and normal water in our bathrooms for 12 months. During winter, temperatures in Spiti can drop to -25 to -30 degrees, causing water supply issues in bathrooms, where people often resort to using bucket water for hygiene and toilet needs. However, this is not a problem for us.
Feature Two: Mud House
Our homestay features a traditional mud house constructed with eco-friendly materials. Mud houses provide superior insulation compared to cement structures, keeping them warm during winter and cool in summer. This unique design helps maintain an ideal temperature, ensuring comfort for our guests. We have embraced our ancestral building techniques, incorporating old wooden pillars and rustic wooden interiors to enhance the authentic experience.
Feature Three: local cuisine
Our menu features a diverse range of local delicacies, highlighted by our renowned thukpa, a wholesome and tasty barley dish. It aids in acclimatization and supports good blood circulation. We also offer momo and shunali, a type of sweet dessert. Furthermore, we provide our guests with the opportunity to engage in self-cooking as well.
